Essential functions: ♦ Provides academic support and tutoring in all major subject areas during the academic year ♦ Conducts individual and small group tutorials ♦ Attend math classes and observe work being taught; share on-line tutoring resources ♦ Serves as a mentor to students ♦ Chaperones field trips/events ♦ Completes program evaluation forms and tutor notes - daily ♦ Enforces and abides by the Brockton Education& BHS rules and regulations ♦ Attends orientation, program staff meetings, and End of Program events ♦ Assist students with creating FSA IDs and reviewing FAFSA checklists Experience: • Demonstrated experience working with the target population. • College students in good academic standing with a grade point average of a 2.5 or higher. • Sensitive to the needs of urban high school students and families. • Knowledge of test-taking, study skills and college planning process. Education: • College students in good academic standing with a grade point average of a 2.5 or higher. Skills: • Ability to work independently with diverse groups. • Familiarity and comfort with all major subject areas, especially math. • Ability to assist others in understanding concepts. • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with target population. • Demonstrated professionalism and maturity.
