Job Description A cafeteria manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school cafeteria, including food preparation, service, and safety. They also manage the staff and ensure that the cafeteria runs efficiently. Responsibilities Food preparation: Oversee the preparation and serving of meals Staff management: Recruit, train, and supervise cafeteria workers Safety and sanitation: Ensure that food is prepared safely and stored properly Record keeping: Maintain records of food production, lunch counts, and income Qualifications High school diploma or GED Knowledge of food preparation methods, materials, and equipment Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents Ability to manage personnel Knowledge of basic accounting and reporting procedures Experience in institutional food service operations Completion of a sanitation course
