Quality Information Partners, Inc. More specifically, QIP consultants offer a wide range of services, including expertise in: Elementary and secondary education data collection, management, and reporting ED Facts and Common Core of Data (CCD) data management, including data quality and use Data quality/standards guidance and analysis National education data standards (elements, definitions, and attributes) Federal data, publication, and website standards Data privacy issues, such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Duties of the Position QIP is seeking a conscientious, analytical, independent individual with excellent communication skills. This person must be able to work well with others, understand how to review, interpret, and explain data, as well as assist in task management. QIP is looking to hire an education analyst to work on several U.S. Department of Education (ED) data management tasks, including the ED Facts Initiative and the CCD (Common Core of Data). This position will serve as client contact for analytical expertise-developing conceptual frameworks that guide analysis work, applying appropriate techniques to analyze and report data, organizing and documenting analytical results and research procedures, preparing reports and presenting findings to clients. This person also will work as part of a larger data team to support ED's data management. Qualifications for the Position Required: A bachelor's degree, preferably in public policy, political science, education, or sociology 1-3 years of work experience related to education, education policy, data quality processes, or interpreting data Experience with large datasets and basic knowledge of statistics and survey methodology 1-2 years of experience in programming experience in SAS, STATA, or SPSS, with focus on statistical procedures and/or extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel (to include pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, macros) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail and the ability to think analytically and exercise judgment to solve problems Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Solid work ethic and the ability to exert optimal effort to successfully complete tasks on time High degree of professionalism, discretion, and excellent customer service skills U.S. Citizenship Preferred: A Master's degree, preferably in public policy, education, public administration, sociology, or a related social science discipline Familiarity with advanced SAS procedures, such as PROC SQL and SAS Macro Language Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools Work Conditions: This is a full-time position on-site in Herndon, VA that requires at least a one-year commitment from the applicant.
