College Completion Director Position Overview The mission of the College Completion Director role is to lead College Track students to graduate with a bachelor's degree within six years. S/he will lead a team of part time and full time employees to ensure 98% of students matriculate to college, 90% of college freshman successfully persist and 70% of college students graduate within six years. Primary Responsibilities include: Additionally,\nthe College Completion team ensures that students: Are exposed to diverse college choices Develop their "scholar profile" to make\n themselves great candidates Apply to targeted colleges and scholarships Complete FAFSA accurately and on time Are advised and coached in a way that builds\n their self-reliance and self-management through college completion Maintain meaningful, productive, and lasting\n relationships with College Track advisors until college graduation. Experience an impactful curriculum that\n guides them through meeting all 9-12 and college benchmarks related to\n college completion. Primary Responsibilities include: Vision Development: Collaboratively devising, and clearly communicating, a vision for how to successfully meet college completion metrics (both through the high school and college portions of our program) Team Leadership: Hire, manage and lead a team of part-time and full-time staff to achieve high quality results aligned to the college completion site goals. Individualized Student Support: Work directly with 12th grade students as they apply to colleges and scholarships, and as they transition to college life. Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with support organizations and Universities to ensure ongoing student success. Professional Development: Engage with others to learn best practices; and evolve program elements to ensure optimal student achievement. Curriculum Development and Course Implementation: Plan and teach a course that guides students through meeting both high school and college completion benchmarks related to college admission and completion. Skills\n& Experience Required Minimum 4-year college degree. Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with or advising college students; history of facilitating high numbers of college admission and/or completion. Holds the highest expectations for students. Demonstrated success in motivating, influencing and managing students. Strong interpersonal skills and effective at relationship building with students and families. Empathetic approach to challenging conversations. Experience in hiring, developing and supporting talent. Creates the conditions for staff to learn, grow and do their work with ever increasing excellence. Strong understanding of or interest in higher education, financial aid and college admissions. Strong sense of possibility; approaches challenges with optimism. Track record of success in strategy development and/or project planning. Success in collaborating and communicating effectively within both broader organizations and smaller teams. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
