Role Mission: The Health Services Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the data and administrative management for the Health Services Department. This position will be the lead administrator on all student health data, ensuring each individual campus and the collective IDEA district is monitoring progress, following state and HIPAA guidelines, and providing high-quality care to students and families. When a campus-based Health Aide is out, the Health Services Coordinator may also be responsible for leading the campus clinic on his/her own. This role includes managing the clinic and providing direct care to students in the clinic, conducting state-mandated screenings, assisting with administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, review and input immunization records and maintaining accurate files. The Health Services Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Health and Wellness. Accountabilities: Health Services 100% of students have all state required immunizations within 30 days of the first day of school (9/20/19) and kept current through the LDOS with 100% of seniors having MCV4 vaccine by May 15, 2020. Assist campus Health Aides in collecting, reviewing and entering immunization records. Ensure records are compliant on first day of school for returning students and within first 30 days of school for new students to district and remain compliant throughout the school year. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and electronic reports, records, and other documents Partner with Health Aides to schedule on-site clinics with local community resources to provide free or low-cost vaccines Assist with state reporting 100% required students screened by second Friday in December (Dec 13, 2019) with 100% of findings resolved by third Monday in March (March 23, 2020). New campuses must screen ALL new students in vision and hearing 100% of Health Aides are certified by state to conduct vision, hearing, spinal, AN screenings Track campus progress toward goal by assisting with data entry and running reports to identify students in need of screenings. Partner with Health Aides to schedule screening assistance from community partners such as Lions Club, Half Helen Foundation Assist with screenings and state reporting as needed Ensures 100% of schools are fully operational by the first day of school Clinics are fully stocked with supplies including AED and Stop the Bleed kits; orders placed throughout the school year to keep clinic stocked. Clinics furnished with bed, privacy curtains, refrigerator, desk, filing cabinet, bookshelf and office phone. 100% of Health Aides have access to and have completed training for key systems: Nursing software program, ImmTrac, SafeSchools, TRAT2DC, UDCA, etc. Facilitate check ins with the Facility Manager and the business office to ensure orders are processed in a timely manner and ensures service availability and business relationships are not jeopardized. 100% task completion of organizational, operational and logistical assignments Provide training and coaching to campus-based staff as needed to ensure Health Services staff are properly collecting, entering and analyzing data Maintain databases by assisting with data entry and running weekly reports to populate Health Services dashboard Coordinate logistics for Health Services department trainings, events and meetings as needed Support Campuses to Achieve Quality and Safety Excellence in Health Services Track campus performance and partner with Regional Health Services staff to develop trainings around the quality and safety audit rubrics for Health Aides. Qualifications: Must be willing to travel on average 25% of the time with peak seasons at 50% High School diploma or GED required Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) OR a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required Current certification in CPR/AED/ First Aid required Certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services to conduct vision, hearing, spinal, and AN screenings required Knowledge and Skills: Advanced data management and reporting skills Proficient keyboarding and electronic file maintenance skills Ability to use laptop and software to develop and populate databases and do word processing Ability to track and monitor clinic supply budget Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and execute toward goals Experience: 2+ years' experience in a data management or administrative position Experience in health care preferred Experience with school-age children preferred Experience maintaining electronic health records preferred IDEA Public Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, sex or disability, in admission or access to, or treatment of employment in its programs and activities.
