Job Description

Digital Marketing Specialist with at least 3 years experience leading a team, understanding of the homeschooling community and industry a must, degree in digital marketing preferred - salary $40,000 - $55,000 depending on experience and fit for the position. Local to our Jackson, TN offices - willing to relocate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:All positions within HomeLife Academy (HLA) are designed to support the mission of HLA which is to INSPIRE AND EQUIP parents to develop A HEART FOR LEARNING in their students while providing the FREEDOM AND FLEXIBILITY they need to succeed. No job description can adequately describe all the tasks that might form this position. It is important to remember that jobs tend to evolve and change over time as HLA strives to let staff grow into their positions organically.
The Digital Marketing Specialist will focus on communications, social media, and growth. This person collaborates with HLA leadership to create, develop, and implement communication and marketing programs, ensuring clarity and consistency in branding and positioning, with a clear identity that reflects the mission, vision, values, and philosophy.
Major ResponsibilitiesThoroughly know and learn the history, culture, processes and markets of HLA; understand the mission and the educational philosophy; know all marketing and communications activities within the company.Work closely with the Senior Administrator and participate actively in the work and success of the senior leadership team and provide support for events and administrative tasks as needed.Promote HLA's reputation as an outstanding school for homeschoolers. Working in the community and through events to portray and help to grow HomeLife Academy is an integral part of this position. Damage control and making sure that current and relevant information is available is important as well. Develop marketing and communications strategies and plans that advance HLA and increase engagement with prospective and current families.Create/develop new revenue sources through long-term partnerships, selling ads, affiliations, referral programs, etc.Contribute to audio/visual marketing such as video, podcasts, webinars using Adobe Connect.Collaborate with the administrative teams in articulating their purpose and ongoing work.Ensure brand and messaging quality and consistency, and establish guidelines to apply across all departments, activities and events.In collaboration with the Senior Administrator, design strategies and implement concrete plans to increase student enrollment and maintain prospective student and family interest. Also, working closely on pre-registration promotions and email communications.In collaboration with the Digital Content Producer and Communications Specialist to produce the newsletter, find blogging opportunities and build a blogging community within our own HLA families. Developing Homeschool Ember (an external blog).Assist in planning and managing the department budget in order to maximize the effectiveness of all communications. This includes bidding out production of materials when appropriate to outside vendors.Create and execute a plan that regularly places HLA in local media. Manage all messaging in the media.Create, review, revise, and update as necessary the HLA's crisis communication plan.Engage actively in professional development in order to remain current in best practices related to independent school communications, emerging social media, and effective marketing and advertising strategies.Work closely with the SA and board of The Homeschool C.A.R.E. Foundation (charitable arm) to develop new programs and to build knowledge and engagement within the community.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:Excellent organizational and leadership skills including problem solving.Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.Thorough understanding of diverse marketing processes and strategy development.Good understanding of research methods and data analysis techniques.Excellent verbal/written communication skills including ability to communicate well with families, vendors and staff.Computer proficiency - any of the following are a plus...Gmail, Slack, Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel.Must be able to work under pressure, while maintaining a positive attitude and exemplary customer service.Ability to work independently and finish tasks to completion.Ability to adapt to change and multi-task, managing multiple projects with shifting priorities and competing deadlines.Comfortable on camera to promote HLA and HCF across several platforms.Knowledge of HLA and/or education/homeschooling a plus.

Office Environment and Working Relationships:Due to the culture of HLA and its affiliated companies being a very relaxed and flexible environment, we seek those who are able to maintain a reliable and dependable attendance record and are efficient in managing their time. Contact and communication with staff is vital and there is an expectation of courtesy and consideration to all staff when communicating. Keep in mind that email is not always the best form of communication so consider Slack or a phone call where real time communication can occur. Collaboration is a large part of the HomeLife Academy culture. Ideas and suggestions should always be welcomed.
