Job Description

Panhandle Regional Planning Commission (PRPC) is accepting applications for the following position:

Full time Program Specialist for the Panhandle Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC)

Duties include:

  • Answering phone inquiries for information regarding community services, housing and long-term care resources;
  • Provide appropriate referrals to clients from internal database;
  • Seek follow up responses regarding outcomes and effectiveness of referral(s);
  • Attend program related training's to achieve mandatory state and federal contract certifications;
  • Attend appropriate community meetings to network and make community contacts for resource possibilities

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Customer service experience a plus,
  • Basic knowledge of community resources;
  • Computer knowledge required;
  • Effective communication skills both oral and written; Bilingual ability (English and Spanish) preferred;
  • Ability to work well with all types of people

Baccalaureate degree (or currently enrolled) in social sciences, public or business administration, education, or related field or Associates Degree (or currently enrolled) in appropriate field and two years of experience with non-profit community in the Panhandle region or any appropriate combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
