Job Description

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee owned company, is seeking candidates for a Blackhawk Training Specialist to support Utility Helicopter Program Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL. Job Responsibilities/Duties: Provide management direction and subject matter expertise in the overall planning, design, development, and evaluation of Utility Helicopter training initiatives.
Recommend strategies, resource requirements, and objectives for improvement. Provide SME input to all requirements of the Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP)
to include all Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements. Communicate with the Project Office, Unit Commanders, New Equipment Trainers and Soldiers to resolve any issues or concerns which arise during fielding to
Active Duty and Reserve Component units for Army Aviation aircraft. Coordinate with external organizations (TRADOC, PEO STRI, SED) to execute management of training for UHPO systems. Support research, development, design,
test, production, fielding, and sustainment of UHPO-managed training devices, training courseware and related programs. Coordinate and participate in Training Integrated Product Team (TIPT) working group meetings. Review Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL), Engineering
Change Proposals (ECP), test plans, and other design changes which may impact Soldier training. Review and evaluate training aids and devices such as simulators, Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI), digital training products, video, charts, maps and
photographs to ensure their adequacy and consistency with objectives. Must be able to translate aviation terminology and procedures for training developers and
IMI development teams. Assist in the formulation and preparation of training schedules, directives, and materials for the mission. Maintain training support material/reference files and
obtains updates as necessary. Maintain liaison with the Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) proponent schools to approve training materials and publications to supplement p
programs. Performs other duties as assigned. Identify potential system/training/safety problems areas and develop approaches for solutions. Provide technical expertise in safety hazard analyses and risk assessment. Safety training, training documentation, SOP review and tracking, conduct/attend
monthly Safety meetings within the organization as required. Required Experience: Bachelor's Degree with 7 years of experience or High School Diploma with 11 years of experience. Strong written and oral communication skills. Candidates should possess an Army Aviation background with strong knowledge of the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter and substantial subject matter expertise in
mission sets, aviation operations, training, and safety. Experience with Flight-Critical and Safety-Critical Army requirements with regard to Airworthiness Releases (AWR), Interim Statements of Airworthiness
Qualification (ISAQs), Army Safety Action Messages (ASAM), and Safety of Flight Messages (SOF). Experience with new equipment fielding and training requirements. Familiarity with civil and military airworthiness qualifications. Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred familiarity with Army safety programs and regulations and have experience in drafting policies and procedures from DOD safety regulations for application
at the organization level. Ability to analyze and solve complex problems; knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced system concepts, assess specifications and
perform system integration. Conduct Site Surveys, assess safety risks, and provide briefings to unit leadership in advance of system fielding; conduct After Action Reviews and out-briefings as
required. Gather statistics and observations during training events and prepare detailed written reports and briefings suitable for presentation to senior level military, corporate
leadership, and the Utility Helicopter Project Office as well as present material and provide appropriate recommendations. Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines; prioritize internal and external tasks/projections, work independently, and perform duties with minimal
