Talent Recruitment Team

Our success as an organization is dependent on having excellent teachers in every classroom who are responsible for ensuring that all students achieve at or beyond grade level and each school is led by a team of visionary school leaders to achieve the school's mission of eliminating the achievement gap. The Talent Recruitment team is responsible for recruiting exceptional educators who align with Rocketship's core characteristics and can serve as teachers and school leaders.

The Position

Reporting to the Chief Talent and Strategy Officer, the The Associate Director (AD) of Talent Development will work directly on one of our top organizational priorities: creating outstanding strategies and systems for Talent recruitment at scale. In this position, the AD will directly impact Rocketship's future talent pipeline by taking instructional staff recruitment to the next level at Rocketship. Currently, Rocketship employs nearly one hundred school leaders and over 350 teachers. These critical staff members are at the heart of our mission to eliminate the achievement gap and our ability to recruit even more of these outstanding individuals is critical to our mission and growth. The AD of Talent Recruitment will lead the following initiatives:

Marketing: Create a strategy and campaign in conjunction with marketing team to develop our talent brand and generate higher volume of quality applicants, especially in California.

Partnership development: Expand and deepen national and regional partnerships to strengthen pipelines of local candidates which will help reduce cost/hire and support diversity.

Progress monitoring: Lead full integration and optimize use of new applicant tracking system.

Refine goals and milestones to track recruitment team progress in cultivation, applications, conversion rates, close rates, and offer acceptance.

Systems for scaling and efficiency: Analyze team processes, develop systems and maximize current tools (i.e. Lever, Salesforce) to help create more efficiency within the team which will allow us to better scale recruitment as we grow. Focus on practices that support multi-regional management.

    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Outstanding skills in problem solving and critical thinking
    • Experienced in data analysis and data-driven decision making
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to engage and invest diverse stakeholders across multiple teams without direct authority
    • Experience collaborating on complex projects across teams and or regions to invest and align diverse stakeholders
    • Strong organization skills
    • An entrepreneurial spirit; high degree of comfort launching new programming in a new role and adapting to changing needs
    • Demonstrated knowledge of, and support for, Rocketship's mission, vision, and educational model
    • 2+ years working in K-12 schools or school systems
    • Experience in recruitment, hiring, or selection preferred
    • Authorized to work in the United States
