JOB TITLE: Clinic Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Manager of Student Wellness

KIPP Texas Public Schools Student Support Services (S 3 ) is a multi-disciplinary network of general and special educators, counselors, social workers, nurses and clinic coordinators. The S 3 team exists to prevent, respond to, and minimize the barriers to learning that KTX students may experience. The role of the Clinic Coordinator is to provide minor first aid, administer medication as well as conduct mandatory health screenings.

This position furthers the mission of KIPP Texas Public Schools as it promotes and protects the optimal health status of KIPP students.


The Clinic Coordinator will:
Obtain student health history data
  • Perform mandated health screenings in a timely and efficient manner
    • Submit data to the KIPP Houston Lead Nurse for state reporting
  • Perform minor first aid as needed
    • Assist in the control of communicable diseases
    • Serve as an Unlicensed Diabetic Care Assistant as needed
  • Administer medications according to KIPP's medication policy as needed
  • Track and record student immunization data
  • Coordinate with KIPP Care staff to promote and support access to KIPP Care services for students and families
  • Perform clerical tasks and filing of student clinical records

Education and Knowledge:
  • High School Diploma
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Certified Nursing Certification required
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Vision/Hearing Screening Certification preferred
  • Acanthosis Nigricans Screening Certification preferred
  • Scoliosis Screening Certification preferred
  • Understanding of child growth and development
  • Understanding of basic health care procedures

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

  • Responsiveness; Follow-up and follow-through with students, families, and faculty members is essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Proficiency using computers, printers, copy machines, and fax machines

Compensation and Benefits
Salary is based on years of experience, degree of education, and level of expertise. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
