What do you do all day?

As the leader of the Program Team, the VP is a strategic thinker responsible for the renewal and expansion strategy for the team that supports our partners with all NMSI’s products and services. You’ll connect with district and state administrators from around the country, learning about their most pressing strategic initiatives and challenges, and influence these leaders to partner with NMSI to support their work. The VP must work collaboratively with teams across the organization and lead a multi-functional team towards a clear vision and strategy that aligns with organizational goals and priorities.  


Reporting to the COO, this is a full-time position based out of a home office anywhere in the contiguous United States and will require travel, once it is safe to do so, with up to three overnight trips per month.  

What are the details?  

  • Develop and direct strategy to increase NMSI’s footprint with existing and new partners, coaching and setting strategy for discovering and maturing opportunities to grow NMSI’s business 
  • Meet cultivation and fee-for-service revenue targets and programmatic goals related to student and teacher outcomes 
  • Monitor the market and competitor products and activities and provide detailed sales forecasting 
  • Review stakeholder activity, anticipate needs, and improve customer satisfaction 
  • Oversee the cultivation and onboarding of new district and school partners 
  • Represent NMSI as the leader in providing STEM education and increased opportunity for student success for every school and every region we partner 
  • Manage relationships with partner organizations and district clients  
  • Collaborate across all NMSI teams to help achieve organizational goals 
  • Contribute to the organizational strategy as a member of the Senior Management Team  
  • Manage and coach team members to renew and drive revenue growth for the organization, ensuring they have the coaching, information, and resources needed to be successful   
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Education & Experience – You have a significant track record of achieving results in a fast-paced environment at a senior leadership level, managing multiple functional areas, including sales or partnerships. You have a keen understanding of the US public school system and the inequities that stand in the way of students’ success. You have demonstrated success as a top performer (exceeding goals and quota) with a consultative sales mindset 
  • Effective Manager – You hold teams accountable for achieving results and serve as a role model in delivering direct and actionable feedback. You develop talent, providing stretch opportunities to create future leaders. What do we offer?  

The salary for this position is $150,000 - $175,000 and commensurate with experience, plus up to 10% performance based bonus. Depending on the depth of experience, we will consider a higher salary. We take pay equity seriously and work hard to ensure our team members are paid fairly no matter their gender, race, or other demographic backgrounds. In addition to a competitive salary with the potential for an annual pay increase, we offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including paying roughly 85% of employee-only medical, dental, and vision benefits plus a large portion for dependents. Staff are eligible to participate in 401(k) after 90 days of employment, with up to a 6% employee match, fully vested on day one of participation in the plan. Other benefits for full-time employees include referral and performance-based annual bonuses, telecommunications stipends for eligible remote employees, 14-16 paid holidays annually (including a week-long winter break), and a generous PTO policy starting at 18 days per year.
