Role Mission: The Business ERP Information Systems Team strives to support the leadership at IDEA as we work together to meet and exceed our ambitious financial and student achievement goals. The Director of Business ERP Information Systems, under the supervision of the Sr. Vice President of Finance/Controller, is responsible for overall administration management and security of the district's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, MUNIS for Business and HR/Payroll functions, including MUNIS implementations, management and maintenance of MUNIS databases and servers.

The Director of Business ERP Information Systems provide leadership and project management for Business and HR/Payroll ERP system implementations, operations, maintenance and compliance. In doing so, the Director of Business ERP Information Systems will be charged with executing on the strategic vision for our growing organization and managing staff towards sustained efficacy in all aspects of the Business Office Information Systems Department.

Reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Finance/Controller, the Director of Business ERP Information Systems will play a critical role in ensuring MUNIS ERP System Administration Team resources are efficiently maximized, ERP systems (*4 Entities) are operational 24/7 and supporting Business, Human Resources, Payroll Departments and the District towards its strategic vision to provide exceptional financial services and financial results to support and sustain the operations and continued growth of IDEA Public Schools.

Accountabilities
[ Overseeing the different functions of DBA, Server Administrator (Back End System Admin) and System Administrator ] Oversee administration, security and maintenance of the districts ERP System for Business & HR/Payroll functions and manage the Business ERP Information Systems administration staff .
  • Lead ERP System Administration team in the day to day tasks of technical maintenance of the Tyler MUNIS ERP Business & HR/Payroll system
  • Oversee the functions of System Administration, System Implementation, Database Administration, Server Administration, Training, Report Writing and Help Desk Support of the MUNIS ERP (Business & HR/Payroll) System
  • Ensure the MUNIS ERP System Databases for all 4 Entities (TX, IPS Enterprises LLC, Louisiana, NOLA) are operational 24/7
  • Oversee that the servers are monitored daily to ensure the ERP systems are operational 24/7 (Currently 17 Servers)
  • Supervise the team of the MUNIS ERP Database Administrator/Analyst and the Business & HR/Payroll Consultants
  • Manage staff development and training of the Business IS Department
  • Conduct direct report staff performance reviews as outlined in the Staff Development Cycle
  • Conduct weekly check-ins with direct reports
  • Provide special technology assistance to senior staff to develop and complete high priority district projects across Business and HR/Payroll
  • Oversee timely installation of maintenance upgrades on servers for Tyler MUNIS
  • Manage the Business Information System Help Desk ticket request system
  • Coordinate, troubleshoot and expeditiously resolve database and/or server issues with third parties (Tyler MUNIS and Rackspace)
  • Manage the periodic database refreshes of 16 Tyler MUNIS Non-Production Environments based on HR/Payroll or Business Department trainings and requests
  • Oversee the periodic planning, testing and installing of MUNIS Internet Updates in all 4 MUNIS Production Databases
  • Oversee and coordinate with the MUNIS Database Administrator/Analyst on all future database and server implementations (Ex: IDEA NOLA, July 1, 2018)
  • Oversee the planning for storage and capacity as the number of users and data grow in each database

2. [ Project Manager ] Serve as the Project manager of implementation for all Tyler MUNIS applications
  • Project Manage on Business and HR/Payroll implementations related to the MUNIS ERP System
  • Utilize project management frameworks such as GRPI (Goals, Roles, Process and Interpersonal) and RASI (Responsible, Approve, Support, Inform) to ensure project and team effectiveness
  • Project Manage implementation for IDEA Florida for a Go Live date of July 1, 2019
  • Project Manage implementation for Phase II projects in MUNIS across TX, Louisiana and Enterprises LLC databases (Business & HR/Payroll)
  • Project Manage implementation of future version upgrades (Upgrade every 1 -2 years) for each of the 4 Production Databases of MUNIS (6 months - 1 year of planning, testing, communication, implementing and training)
  • Project Manage implementation of new system functionality for Business and HR/Payroll that is leveraged in version 11.2 or future versions of MUNIS
  • Strategically plan for MUNIS system upgrades, new modules, and enhancements to include user requirements, testing, training and development, and change management across all affected areas

[A pplications System Administrator - Front End System Admin ] Oversee the System Administration of MUNIS, MUNIS Self Service, SSRS and Tyler Content Manager for all 4 Databases (TX, LA, NOLA and Enterprises LLC)
  • Maintain security and permissions for all MUNIS users (Business and HR/Payroll District Wide) - Over 600 Tyler MUNIS Users and over 4,000 MUNIS Self Service Users
  • Address escalated helpdesk requests that are entered district wide for anything related to MUNIS that needs to be followed up with Tyler Application Support
  • Maintain Tyler Content Manager and MUNIS Self Service Systems to ensure greatest efficiency
  • Provide operation support and on-going maintenance of patches/updates to include installation plan, testing and evaluating of updates
  • Analyze and administer security requirements, user roles, permissions and workflow business rules across all MUNIS environments (Currently 4 Live Databases (Texas, Louisiana, NOLA and Enterprises LLC) and 8 Non-Production Environments)

[ Overseeing Business Systems Analyst ] Manage the administration of Tyler MUNIS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Lead the Business Information Systems ERP Database Administrator/Analyst in developing and maintaining ad hoc reports as needed for the Business Division leveraging SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Manage the strategic way in how SSRS will be used to meet reporting capabilities of the district
  • Instruct the Business Office in developing ways to leverage SSRS, ODBC or other SQL report writing tools to make analyzing data more efficient and effective
  • Oversee the administration of Tyler MUNIS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

Serve as the business partner to managers within the organization to ensure proper and maximized utilization of the ERP System
• Meet with managers to identify reporting needs

• D evelop information system report design

• Oversee creation, distribution and training for ERP MUNIS System Reports

[ Lead MUNIS Implementation Consultant/Trainer for District ] Serve as the Lead MUNIS Implementation Consultant for Business & HR/Payroll and Trainer for the district
• Oversee and Manage all implementations that are conducted for Phase II Functionality, Version Upgrades and New Database Implementations

• Serve as the lead MUNIS consultant to the various business and human resources departments regarding MUNIS program requirements, product architecture, and implementation in areas of technical and business expertise

• Supervise the MUNIS ERP Implementation team

• Conduct small and large group trainings for the district across all functions of the district ERP System (Tyler MUNIS)

• Develop training programs and materials for MUNIS users and train end users in procedures and systems

Provide professional consulting services to Business Office and HR/Payroll Senior Leadership in the procurement of information systems to be utilized by the District
• Prepare a comprehensive information system needs assessment

• Conduct market research on information systems best suited to meet the needs of IDEA Public Schools and related entities

• Prepare and present to senior leadership a comprehensive analysis of information systems under consideration and recommendation for procurement

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train and evaluate the IDEA MUNIS ERP Administration Team

• Oversee the functions of System Administration, Implementation, Database Administration, Server Administration, Training, Report Writing and Help Desk Support of the MUNIS ERP System

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required, business administration, management information systems, computer information systems or a related field preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 - 7 years in training employees on all functions of MUNIS ERP System including the areas of Business and HR/Payroll
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience implementing/upgrading system versions of the MUNIS ERP System
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience administering the MUNIS ERP System for Finance, Human Resource and Payroll modules
    • Minimum of 4 - 6 years of school district experience in both Business and HR/Payroll functions
    • Minimum of 3 years working with SSRS and the MUNIS ERP System
    • Minimum of 3 years of management experience
Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of the MUNIS ERP system with a strong concentration in both Finance and HR/Payroll

• Knowledge of business processes, policies and procedures related to Business and Human Resources, specifically in a school district environment

• Knowledge of MUNIS ERP system implementation requirements

• Knowledge of the management of the MUNIS ERP system on both the (Front End) MUNIS Applications (MUNIS, Munis Self Service, SSRS, Tyler Content Manager) and (Back End) the Database/Servers (MIU Administration, Database Refreshes, GAS Services)

• Knowledge of relational databases and reporting tools, Microsoft SQL and Reporting Services in relation to MUNIS ERP System

• Effective communication, presentation, writing and organizational skills

• Mature interpersonal skills with the ability to analyze user requirements and work effectively across various departments

Compensation:
  • Salaries for this role typically fall between $71,298 and $84,132 , commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.
