The Community and Operations Coordinator is a member of a small, tight-knit school operations team charged with ensuring school operations meet all state and federal regulations, run flawlessly, and support excellent teaching and learning. Specifically, this person will manage day-to-day school operations and support the entire school operations staff, ensuring that the school is efficient, responsive, and high-functioning.

Reports to: Assistant Principal of Operations

Campus Operations
  • Formulates and maintains systems and processes for campus operations
  • Sets operating procedures for the implementation of school-wide events
  • Owns the creation and management of the school wide calendar of events
  • Provides logistical support for all major student assessments
  • Manage day-to-day school operations and support the entire school operations staff, ensuring that the school is efficient, responsive, and high-functioning
  • Serves as the campus liaison with district food services personnel and processes
  • Manages the substitute teacher process including recommendations on selection, placement, and terminations as well as implementing the school-wide system for filling teacher absences (high schools only)
  • Coordinates with Front Office team to ensure a high functioning front office including work to:
    • Welcome parents & visitors, maintain accurate visitor logs, and respond to visitor & parent requests as appropriate
    • Manage day-to-day student transportation messaging for late buses or busing changes
    • Provide basic first aid and medical assistance to students in need
    • Collect and track uniform, meal, and activity fees
Community Engagement
  • Builds relationships with and facilitates communication between families, teachers, and school staff
  • Independently determines responses to family engagement needs proactively and reactively including matters of enrollment and conflict resolution
  • Determine, interpret, and implement school-wide response to family and student emergencies
  • Solely responsible for the management of campus student recruitment operations
  • Manage the translation of family communications and parent meetings
  • Implement and lead parent involvement programs, ensuring engagement from families

Budget Management
  • Maintains budget oversight and accountability for specific operating functions as well as controls application of funds towards school needs
  • Maintains order and inventory in the teacher workroom including making and tracking all campus purchases within confines of budgetary restraints

  • Experience collaborating with team members and providing constructive and instructive feedback
  • Spanish fluency required.
  • Multiple years of administrative experience, preferably in a school setting
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
