Job Description


Lynn Public Schools has an opening at the Lynn Vocational Technical Institute for a Special Education Teacher for the COACH Program (18-22 yrs) for the 2020-2021 school year.

This program is appropriate for those students on the Autistic Spectrum who demonstrate more severe characteristics of the disorder and require more intensive, less inclusive settings. The classrooms are highly structured and offer a consistent and systematic approach to instruction. Autism Specialist, behavior specialists and consultation and professional development from the May Institute are available to classroom teachers as needed.
  • Willingness to be trained in Autism Spectrum Techniques and data collections
  • Willingness to complete MCAS Alt. portfolios
Methodology: Applied Behavioral Analysis, Verbal Behavior, Social Pragmatics, Picture Exchange Communication System, and use of visual supports. The methodologies are incorporated throughout the day and are aligned with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Behavioral supports are a strong component of this program.
