The Lynn Public Schools has an open position for a Special Education Teacher at Lynn Vocational Technical Institute for a Fresh Start Transition Program (students aged 18-22) for the 2020-2021 school year.
The Fresh Start Transition Program serves students with mild cognitive impairment, ASD, and social/emotional challenges who are aged 18-22. As they prepare for community college and other vocational interests, these young adults are working to further develop their social skills, self-advocacy and independence in the community.
While supporting IEP goals and objectives focused on transition skills, Fresh Start Teachers provide support to students as they learn job readiness skills and navigate community with the goal of becoming employed and confident in their identified transition skill areas.
Candidates interested in this position must hold a Massachusetts DESE license in Special Needs/Moderate Disabilities, 5-12.
