Conducts individual, standardized, curriculum-referenced or norm-referenced tests to evaluate intellectual, academic, behavioral, adaptive and/or social/emotional behaviors.
Observes referred students in school or community environments as part of the evaluation process.
Participates in educational planning, eligibility, and/or determination of placement meetings.
Participates in the development of Individual Education Programs, as needed or requested.
Conducts functional behavioral assessments, and participates in manifestation determination meetings and behavioral intervention development as needed or requested.
Provides consultation to teachers regarding instructional, behavioral, and social interventions.
Provides staff development in-services concerning assessment, instruction, and intervention strategies.
Participates in professional development and growth opportunities.
Performs other related duties delegated by the Coordinator/Supervisor of Department of Instruction.
Adheres to policies of the District. WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee works with groups of students and on a one-to-one basis. Students include those who may be physically and mentally disabled, learning disabled, emotionally disturbed and culturally different. Supervision and instructional responsibilities require the employee to be able to stand for up to 45 consecutive minutes and move rapidly to intervene in situations where a student's safety is being jeopardized. The supervision may also occur during times of inclement weather. The employee needs to be able to lift materials, boxes or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds; the employee must be tolerant yet assertive in order to communicate effectively in confrontational and emotional situations involving students and their parents/guardians. Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of child development, maladaptive behavior, behavior management, and classroom discipline.
- Computer technology and other equipment used in the workplace, as required by the position.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSING:
- Coordinates into written report the information gathered from teachers, parents, other agencies, and Consultation Services evaluation.
- Works harmoniously with other agencies, school district personnel, parents, and other staff members.
- Demonstrates better than average communication skills.
- Respects confidential information.
- Possess the physical ability to regularly attend work and fulfill the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Adhere to the federal requirements of a drug-free workplace.
- Perform the duties as required by the Teachers Standards and Practices Commission (OAR 584-20-000 to 035).
Oregon Personnel Services license with School Psychologist endorsement.
Master's degree in school/educational psychology from an accredited college or university SALARY:
2020-2021 Salary Schedule $42,046.12 to $78,045.48.
The district will pay 6% PERS in addition to the above salary.
190 Day Contract.
