As per substitute pay schedule POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE
In the absence of the regular campus RN or LVN, the substitute nurse will provide daily care, administer medications and treatments. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide assessment and nursing care for ill and injured students
- Identify signs and symptoms of communicable disease and follow infectious disease control procedures.
- Demonstrate and utilize knowledge of drug and treatment protocols when administering medication and treatments.
- Inform principal, principal designee and health services supervisor of health concerns noted on campus.
- Provide appropriate intervention for crisis situations.
- Serve as a resource person to students, families and staff as appropriate.
RN or LVN in the state of Texas
Experience in community and/or pediatric nursing preferred
Current CPR certification
Certification in vision, hearing and sp inal screening recommendedPhysical Demands
