To assist the classroom teacher in the care and instruction of the students in the classroom. Major Responsibilities
Follow the directions of the supervisorPreparing materials and displays as directedDemonstrating acceptable written and verbal skillsWorking in a cooperative manner with both teacher and studentsAssisting the teacher in maintaining student disciplineAssisting the teacher in assuming responsibility for the care and safety of studentsAssisting the teacher in assuming responsibility for the care of equipment and teaching materialsChanging diapers for studentsToileting studentsFeeding or assisting with feeding studentsAssisting with lifting studentsAssisting students with other self help skillsBlending foodsCooking foodsAssisting with loading and unloading studentsAll other duties as assigned by the supervisor Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or GEDThe ability to attend staff development trainings as required by the DistrictThe ability to work with all studentsGood people skillsPossess, or be willing to apply for, a TEA Paraprofessional Certificate (personal expense)Ability to work well with children NOTE:
