Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; Computer Science, Information Technology, and/or related field of study preferred;Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in IT, including five years of senior experience in network or systems administration, end-user support, and project management preferred;Microsoft Excel and Viso software experience preferred;
Network, IT Architectural and/or Microsoft certifications preferred;
Demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills and an ability to quickly learn new technologies;
Ability to set and meet self-imposed deadlines and complete assignments on time;Can balance strategic thinking with tactical application;Proficient in ITIL strategy, network security, network components;Introduce alternative technologies to improve or enhance client information systems to support organizational goals;Experience with building enterprise architecture roadmaps;Profound knowledge of network architectures technologies preferred;Project Management experience;Ability to manage the success of projects, identifying best practices for future implementation;Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.


Technology Infrastructure Engineer (TIE) is responsible for designing, coordinating, and maintaining the technology infrastructure on all campuses and non-instructional facilities. The TIE will use his/her expertise to ensure all the technology systems within the campus/district work in unison with each other, including working with Internet connections, cabling, virtualization platforms, and data center systems. The TIE will manage projects that will require detailed planning, implementation, and evaluation of all campus/district programs and work directly with facilities' architects, contractors, and vendors. The TIE will ensure all the technology systems within an organization function seamlessly.


Annual Contract 250 days


$75,258 (TA-7)

Salary (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2019-2020

Participate with leadership to develop and manage ongoing enterprise architecture improvements, governance, and compliance, reliability initiatives and core IT strategies.Act as a sounding board as well as an IT consultant for the business leaders to assist in developing IT infrastructure solutions that deliver positive results.Promote structured process and result-driven optimization to the organization inclusive of business leaders and other enterprises IT support facilities.Develop an implementation plan for infrastructure architecture on basis of IT strategies and business requirements.Oversee and enforce infrastructure architecture execution as well as ongoing refinement tasks.Stimulate evaluation of infrastructure architecture standards commensurate with IT's business partners.Consult facilities' project and application teams to "fit" infrastructure architecture assignments and identify any needs to modify infrastructure architecture solutions or designs to ensure project and application success.Identify enterprise requirements for structures, resources, and cultural modifications required to support infrastructure architecture implementations or changes.Ensure documentation of the entire infrastructure architecture design and evaluation work.Develop and execute communication and education plans for infrastructure architecture.Assist business leaders in developing proper IT budgetary estimates for any new infrastructure solutions required to support their goals and initiatives.Assist Enterprise IT in the maintenance and daily support activities for the individual business units as time or need allows.Serve as Project Manager for special construction projects which are outside of the normal day to day operations of the technology department.Serve as liaison between technology department and the Facilities Planning and Construction department.Design, write and maintain technology construction standards document which will be distributed to the Facilities Planning & Construction department for future remodeling and construction projects.Attend Facilities Planning & Construction department meetings involving remodeling and construction which may impact technology installed on the campuses.Serve as point-of-contact for the district's fiber optic vendor.Coordinate the removal and replacement of network equipment (switches, routers, UPS units) during summer construction and remodeling projects.Schedule weekly visits to campuses undergoing summer remodeling to be sure standards are being followed.Assist ECN quadrant network engineers.Other duties as assigned.Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.

  • Frequent districtwide travel and occasional statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
