To maintain vehicles in safe working order. To act as a backup Bus Driver. Major Responsibilities
Assist mechanics in performing preventative maintenance service and inspectionsWash vehicles and enginesResponsible for pre-tripping and checking of all unassigned busesInspecting trip buses and SUV's for assigned tripsKeep records of bus mileage, gas, and oil consumptionReport all vehicle damage informationAttend and complete requirement training program to maintain safety certificationAbility to inspect, install, repair, and monitor the 24/7 video system for the bus fleetInspect bus by checking fuel, water, oil, tires, lights, brakes, and steering to ensure bus can be operated safely.Perform preventive maintenance, service, and inspectionsRepair/replace any damaged, worn or non-functional component on any MISD owned vehicle which makes the vehicle unsafe for use.Follow up on all reported vehicle maintenance concernsKnowledge of Diesel Mechanic workPerform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation Qualification Requirements
The ability to read and write EnglishHigh School Diploma or GED preferredHave or be eligible for State Bus Driver certification Physical Demands
