Children's Kiva Montessori Elementary/Middle School (CKMS) is a public charter school serving

The CKMS Music teacher is entrusted with advancing the mission of the school through the
development, implementation, and assessment of a standards-based music curriculum for

? BA/BS degree required; 3 years' experience in Music and/or Arts education preferred.
? Pass requisite state testing to be Highly Qualified by Colorado State Law.
? Professional Teachers License within the State of Colorado, or eligible within one year of

? Montessori certifications from a Montessori Accreditation Committee for Teacher
Education (MACTE) approved program (AMS, AMI, NCME, NAMTA etc.) preferred.

willingness to take responsibility for student outcomes and achievement.Responsibilities of the Music Teacher
? Embody mission and vision of school.
? Develop and implement Colorado Department of Education standards-aligned Music
curriculum including scope and sequence, annual plan, unit plans, weekly lesson plans
? Lower Elementary (grades 1-3) Upper Elementary (4-6th grade) and Middle
School Classrooms (7-8th grade) - Music Teacher is responsible for direct
instructional periods in Music following Montessori best practices for Upper
Elementary and Middle School Classrooms.
? Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans (described above) targeted with
end goal of student performance at or above grade level expectations.
? Develop and implement Music curriculum aligned to classrooms'
Montessori/STEAM/Community-Based units and CO Academic Standards.
? Teach and enforce school-wide systems, rules and consequences, disciplinary codes,
and rewards at all times.
? Communicate regularly and proactively with students and families
? Collaborate with other staff members and actively participate in all required professional
development and learning activities.
? Work to continuously improve effectiveness in all instructional practices.
? Use feedback to make productive changes in performance.
? Work collaboratively and productively with Lead Teachers and staff.
? Complete all administrative requirements before given deadlines.
? Participate in required programs as needed throughout the year (including but not limited
to Kidfest Event Planning, Holiday parties/caroling nights).
? Support, organize and maintain an enriching, joyful, rigorous, and authentic Montessori
