Job Description

The Amherst, Amherst-Pelham Regional and Pelham Public School Districts are currently seeking candidates for a full-time Bilingual School Psychologist for the 2019-2020 school-year.

Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility: Conduct bilingual, bilingual informed, and monolingual psychological evaluations and write evaluation reports including recommendations for the Team
Select appropriate assessment instruments, administer tests, observations, and write reports stating the evaluation findings and providing educational recommendations
Consult with school personnel and parents to obtain information regarding the reason for referral.
Participation in IEP Team meetings to determine eligibility and if needed, development of the IEP.
Provide collaborative consultation regarding assessment outcomes and recommendations to assist personnel in working with the student in the classroom setting.
Communication and consultation with school personnel and families for updated student performance information.
Provide collaborative consultation regarding assessment outcomes and recommendations to assist personnel in working with the student in the classroom setting.
May at times provide counseling services, group & individual, to students
Collaborate with the Guidance department, School Adjustment Counselors, BRYT program, and SE personnel to serve the social/emotional/behavioral needs of students
Collaborate with the ELL department and dual language program to develop best practices regarding potential referral and assessment
If needed, participate in Child Study Team meetings
Participation in IEP Team meetings to review student progress and set goals
Participation in district wide meetings and professional development opportunities as related to responsibilities.
Participate in the school's Mental Health Team meetings

Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license/certification as a School Psychologist is required for this position. A license waiver may be considered for qualified applicants who are in the process of meeting the requirements for this license.
