Job Description

As a Children's Residential Counselor 2, you will plan and provide direct services to students or individuals, which includes developing and delivering instruction, supports, and positive role modeling in the areas of life skills, community utilization, healthcare, and social and recreational activities. Latham provides a paid two-week Orientation program for all new employees upon hire.

***Weekend differential $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 7am Saturday through 6:59am Monday! ***

30 hours;Sat, Sun 8a-11p
31 hours:Sun 8a-9p, Mon, Tues 1p-10p
40 hours:Sun 9a-10p, Mon, Tues Wed 1p-10p
38 hours: Wed, Thurs, Fri 2p-10p, Sat 8a-10p
40 hours: Wed, Thurs, Fri 1p-10p, Sat 8a-9p

Location Description

Latham Centers, located on Cape Cod, MA, offers nationally recognized innovative treatment and support services for two groups of individuals: 1) developmentally delayed girls and boys, and 2) children and adults with Prader-Willi syndrome. Our primary facilities are located on a campus in Brewster, MA, with independent living and group homes for our adult programs also located in Brewster and other towns on Cape Cod and Southeastern Massachusetts.

Within this comfortable setting, we have brought together a highly skilled professional team of experts, including physicians, social workers, special education teachers, physical therapists, clinical psychologists, and residential and vocational counselors. This energetic and devoted team works together with Latham residents and family members to develop the right approach and best services for each resident. Job Requirements

  • Candidates with a high school diploma/ GED and are new to the human services field are encouraged to apply! He or she must have the ability to handle children/ individuals in crisis safely, with compassion. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required. Fluent English speaking and writing skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills and professional appearance and demeanor are all required for this position.
  • High School/Trade School degree preferred
