Job Description

As a Behavior Specialist, you will provide behavior management of students using Crisis Prevention Intervention in conjunction with teachers, teacher aides and residential staff.

***Weekend differential $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 7am Saturday through 6:59am Monday! ***

Currently looking to fill the following shifts at our Brewster Campus:

40 hours: Wed, Thurs, Fri 1p-10p, Sat 8a-9p
32 hours: Sun 9a-11p, Mon, Tues 2p-11p
38 hours: Wed 1p-9p, Thurs, Fri 2p-10p, Sat 8a-10p
40 hours: Wed-Fri, 1p-10p, Sat 8a-9p
40 hours: Wed - Fri 1p-10p, Sat 9a-10p
33 hours: Thurs, Fri 2p-11p, Sat 8a-11p
32 hours: Mon, Tues 2p-11p, Sun 9a-11p
34 hours: Mon, Tues 1p-11p, Sun 9a-11p

Location Description

Latham Centers, located on Cape Cod, MA, offers nationally recognized innovative treatment and support services for two groups of individuals: 1) developmentally delayed girls and boys, and 2) children and adults with Prader-Willi syndrome. Our primary facilities are located on a campus in Brewster, MA, with independent living and group homes for our adult programs also located in Brewster and other towns on Cape Cod and Southeastern Massachusetts.

Within this comfortable setting, we have brought together a highly skilled professional team of experts, including physicians, social workers, special education teachers, physical therapists, clinical psychologists, and residential and vocational counselors. This energetic and devoted team works together with Latham residents and family members to develop the right approach and best services for each resident. Job Requirements

  • Latham provides a paid two-week Orientation program for all new employees upon hire. Candidates with a high school diploma/ GED and are new to the human services field are encouraged to apply! High School diploma or GED, a valid driver's license and a clean driving record are all required for this position. Must have strong therapeutic behavior management skills and exhibit ambulatory ability sufficient to physically intervene in instances of extreme behavior that might jeopardize the safety of students and staff.
    Fluent English speaking and writing skills, empathy and the ability to listen, good time management skills and professional appearance and demeanor are all required for this position.
  • High School/Trade School degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
