Job Description

He/she is responsible for the successful transfer of knowledge to students in the subject area for which hired. The instructor will be responsible for ensuring a syllabus, learning objectives, lesson plans, instructional materials, tools, equipment, and supplies are available to perform the required instruction. The instructor will coordinate with the adult education administrators and staff to ensure grades, attendance and other sundry required information is available for student records. Ensure students are adequately prepared to sit for certification/licensing examinations as appropriate.

Appropriate placement on the Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education.

REPORTS TO:

Adult Education Director or Designee

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma. License or Certification in one of the following: Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS), or the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) with sufficient work experience and content knowledge with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience, or a minimum of 10 years of experience and willingness to sit and pass the subject matter license or certification examination. Must be prepared in educational theory and techniques. Ensure student safety at all times. Ability to work cooperatively with a team. Ability to build rapport with many stakeholders. Valid Driver's License. Ability to pass a criminal background check.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree or higher. Additional Industry credentials and/or license(s). Varied medical experiences including prior experience in a hospital setting, a medical office, etc. Serve as a source of information in areas involving trade expertise. Ability to respond to emergencies related to building security or other issues.
