Schedule: Teachers will be required to teach from campus at least 3 days a week with Wednesday being a mandatory day. Students will be fully virtual.
Casa Grande Elementary School District is looking for qualified applicants to teach (K-8) Vocal Music/Band. The position will be at our Center for Online Innovation and Learning (COIL). Instruction will take place both online and in-person. The teacher will play an integral role in the design and implementation of a music/band program that integrates a variety of technology and platforms engaging children in the musical arts. The teacher will create a positive learning environment to facilitate the musical development of his/her students. In order to respond to the needs and abilities of students, the teacher must work closely with other staff, parents, the administration, and other programs of the school district. The teacher will plan and implement effective online/in-person lessons using time, materials and resources effectively for instruction of vocal and instrumental music in grades K-8. This includes utilization of district-adopted music curricula, Quaver (K-5 music curriculum) and Music First (6-8 Band and Vocal curriculum). Lessons will be a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning. The teacher will motivate students through effective communication and evaluative feedback. The teacher will demonstrate awareness of the needs of students and provide for individual differences, set high expectations for student achievement and behavior, and demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships with others. The teacher will establish and maintain a positive climate for learning through appropriate classroom management. The teacher will conduct and supervise school musical programs.
Applicants must possess at least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in music. Must have a valid teaching certificate or proof of eligibility. The ability to fulfill requirements to be Appropriately Certified under ESSA. Must have at least one year of field experience (student teaching) or approved internship. Applicants must possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work cooperatively with all members of the staff and communicate effectively with parents. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. and possess permanent residence status.
