Job Description

MISSION: The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will improve outcomes for all public-school students in the state by providing leadership, guidance, and support to school systems.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Texas Education Agency is seeking a Systems Automation Analyst to perform administration and project management of web-based applications and data automation systems in the Department of Grant Compliance and Administration. The work involves advanced (senior-level) computer systems analysis and database administration for assigned internet-based applications/systems. This individual will report to the department Chief of Staff. The role allows for considerable latitude and the use of initiative and independent judgment, while keeping management fully informed of project status and workload.

Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates.

  • Plans and analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing and improve existing systems.
  • Implements operation, configuration, automation, and maintenance of internet-based applications.
  • Participates in change management process, ensures quality control, and configures, monitors, and tests system configuration changes.
  • Performs accessibility checks and posting of documents for external users and other interface components on a timely and deadline driven basis.
  • Monitors and analyzes environment capacity, performance, and sustainability of systems.

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in systems analysis, database administration, or web-based application work. Experience with internet-based applications preferred, but not required.

Substitutions: Education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis.
