Job Description

The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:

Position: Commonwealth Preschool Partnership Initiative (CPPI) Grant Coordinator - Part-time Position (20 hours/week - 12 month)

Job Description: This coordinator position will oversee the Commonwealth Preschool Partnership Initiative grant. The goals of this grant are expansion and improved access to quality preschool, while building locally aligned quality and equitable access to special education and inclusion. This position is subject to grant funding and is funded by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).

Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with district staff and community partner staff involved in the development and/or implementation of CPPI-related early childhood plans/goals
  2. Attend any relevant EEC meetings or trainings
  3. Co-facilitate all CPPI Leadership meetings
  4. Facilitate student enrollment protocols and outreach for CPPI classrooms
  5. Assist in recruitment and hiring of CPPI staff
  6. Monitor and report on program quality
  7. Ensure invoices and fund requests are timely and all approved budgets are fully expended and accounted for at the end of the fiscal year
  8. Assist in CPPI grant writing and amendments
  9. Manage all subcontracts
  10. Communicate frequently with district staff, community members, advisory council, and partners
  11. Coordinate and implement the outreach services and programs of the centers in the areas of family literacy, early childhood screenings, and school readiness activities.
  12. Provide and organize targeted professional learning opportunities supporting the Fall River CPPI community.
  13. Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Early Childhood

Required Qualifications:
  1. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a focus on Early Childhood Education or child development
  2. Massachusetts Educator License in Early Childhood
  3. Early childhood experience in urban setting preferred
  4. Knowledge of Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care's state regulations for center-based programs
  5. Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills, bilingual Spanish preferred
  6. Experience managing grants or other projects
  7. Ability to be flexible in a deadline-driven environment that requires monitoring of competing priorities and multi-tasking
  8. Highly task-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently

The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an acceptable alternative to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be shared with the Fall River School Committee.

Reports To: Director of Early Childhood

Terms of Employment: Continued employment is contingent on work performance, program need, and grant funding.

Salary: $25,000 (20 hours/week - 12 months)
