Clara Martin Center is a rural non-profit community mental health center located in the center of Vermont. We provide a variety of high quality behavioral health services to the residents of the Upper Valley primarily in Orange County and surrounding towns, with multiple offices located in Randolph, Bradford, Chelsea and Wilder. The Clara Martin Center's East Valley Academy school program is a vital resource for students who struggle to thrive in a traditional public school setting.
East Valley Academy is an independent alternative school located in East Randolph. Students receive academic and therapeutic emotional and behavioral supports in the program. We maintain a small classroom size with a maximum of 6 students per classroom, and a total of 24 students in the program. Common core and proficiency based learning models are the foundation of the academic programming. In addition to the academic component, EVA utilizes a strengths based, resiliency model of programming that is highlighted in our Adventure/Experiential Learning components of the programming. The Special Educator plays a key role in the design and differentiation of academic lessons. This role works closely with the classroom clinicians, and clinical staff to assure quality and comprehensive supports are in place for students. This position is responsible for IEP oversight, and special education case management. Vermont Licensure as a Special Educator with certifications to serve: Emotional Disability, Other Health Impairments, and Intellectual Disabilities is required.

Education Master's Degree preferred. Bachelor's degree in Education with a Special Education endorsement. Master's degree and/or 2 years experience working in a school setting preferred.
