OPPORTUNITY
The Human Resources Generalist will support the Human Resources Department and Green Dot employees utilizing excellent customer service techniques and a passion for getting things right. The HR Generalist will serve as the point of contact to a set of Green Dot employees and managers, providing employees and managers guidance on Green Dot HR practices, HR policies, benefit offerings and leave of absence administration. As needed the HR Generalist may partner with managers to address employee complaints, grievances and investigations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the HR liaison for a set of locations by providing timely responses and solutions regarding HR related questions and issues
Respond to school leadership and employee inquiries requiring HRG guidance within 48 hours or less
Visit school sites per annual schedule to educate and engage employees with Green Dot benefits and wellness offerings, including as needed interfacing with benefits carriers to resolve issues/questions
Be a conduit to the HR department regarding feedback from employees and managers; identify applicable themes and provide suggestions for continuous improvement projects
Escalates issues and questions appropriately to ensure timely and accurate resolution, including, but not limited to intake of employee complaints, grievances, and investigations
Provides guidance to managers on how to effectively support their direct reports when taking a LOA and/or Worker's Comp claim
Handles the administrative documentation and processing of LOA and Worker's Comp,
Provides intake for ADA cases and escalate to senior HR team members as necessary
Provide employees and managers guidance on a variety of HR processes including but not limited to new hire orientations, volunteers, job changes, separating from GDPSC, compensation scale placement, and credential requirements
Support with the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with Onboarding Administrator to ensure hires are made in a timely manner and onboarded efficiently; collaborates with the credentials team to ensure new certificated hires have the correct certifications
Supports with new hire orientations
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
Participates in employee terminations, and investigations as needed
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, authorizers, collective bargaining agreements, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Follow timeline and process established to notify employees and managers of potential non-compliance with credentials, TB, and training requirements
Place non-compliant employees on administrative leaves of absence (e.g., credential, TB and/or training non-compliant) or terminate
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
As an ideal candidate, you:
have a bachelor's degree (required), preferably in Human Resources, Business or Business Administration
have at least two years of human resource management experience (preferred)
have at least two years of experience working in a public school system (preferred)
have excellent verbal and written communication skills
have a foundational knowledge of labor law
possess excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
are able to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
are able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
are proficient with or have the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems
are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot's mission and the communities we serve
will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (submission of proof of vaccination will be required)

COMPENSATION
The starting salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000, based on education and experience. In addition, if this hire is made by June 30, 2023, the position qualifies for a one-time $2,500 signing bonus, paid in two installments after months 6 and 12 of employment (subject to change).
