The selected candidate for this position will be an integral member of the Counseling and College Persistence Team, based at our Ánimo South Los Angeles Charter High School. The successful candidate will manage strategic efforts to increase the college persistence rates at this school site. This is a grant-funded position, ending on June 15, 2025.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategically coordinate college persistence efforts at schools
Create systems of support and increase the college persistence rates
Create best practices for engaging students and their families in applying to best-fit colleges, understanding/maintaining/improving college financial aid packages, preventing summer melt and survival plan for the first year of college
Promote data-driven strategies to increase college persistence rates
Research trends in persistence to identify actionable steps to implement at school sites
Examine how College affordability, Financial Literacy, social-emotional coping strategies, and preparing for the rigor of college courses play a role in increasing persistence
Provide analytic support to multiple audiences to ensure understanding and appropriate use, interpretation, and application of persistence data.
Collaborate and provide feedback to various school site stakeholders in building sustainable resource guides to help support the common challenges facing first-generation and low-income college-going students
Manage the development of technical persistence platforms to inform key metrics leading towards increasing college persistence outcomes
Monitor data compliance and accuracy of persistence-related items (e.g., contact information, schedule of courses, transcripts, financial aid, internships, etc.) using the Alumni Services database
Engage various stakeholders of persistence outcomes through an annual report
Participate in Green Dot and individual professional development programs
Attend and participate in all team meetings, including Persistence Team Meetings and Persistence PD's
Plan and participate in weekly one-on-one meetings with the manager
Participate in other events aimed at promoting or developing Green Dot and its schools
Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
As an ideal candidate, you

have a Bachelor's degree (required; Master's degree preferred)
have a minimum one or two years of successful work experience in delivering educational support services to disadvantaged students, preferably with educational equity or college access program (preferred)
have a basic knowledge of:
* high school graduation and college entrance requirements
* academic programs, including curricula and admissions requirements at higher education institutions.
* higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, Private Colleges) and the ability to explain procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives
* working with a diverse student population, and sensitivity to culture, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status
have strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required
are able to organize and plan complex projects and activities
are able to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects.
exhibit flexibility and high social-emotional competence
are able to establish rapport and relationships with high school personnel, students, families, community members, university departments and faculty members.
are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot's mission and the communities we serve
You will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
You will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (submission of proof of vaccination will be required)

COMPENSATION
The salary for this position is $62,500. In addition, if hired by December 31, 2023, this position qualifies for a one-time $2,500 signing bonus, paid in two installments after months 6 and 12 of employment (subject to change). This is a grant-funded position, ending on June 15, 2025.
