Job Description

Select, administer and interpret comprehensive psycho-educational assessments (including cognitive, academic, social, and/or behavioral emotional assessments) appropriate to assess referral concerns of designated students. • Assess individual student needs, limitations, and potential, using observation, review of school records, evaluation results, and consultation with parents and school personnel. • Compile and interpret students' test results, along with information from teachers and parents, to diagnose conditions, and to help assess eligibility for special services. • Conduct assessments of students referred for an initial evaluation or reevaluation. Assessments may include psychological, achievement, social-emotional and others deemed necessary. • Put interpretations into written report prior to team meetings and interpret assessment findings to school personnel, other concerned professionals, families, and when appropriate students aged 14- older. • Complete and summarize observation of student • Participate in IEP initial, reevaluation, Manifestation Determination and other student-centered meetings to determine initial eligibility, reevaluation eligibility as well as find the best combination of educational programs, and other services, for each school-aged child with special needs. • Make recommendations on ways to assist students in the classroom. • Help others understand child development and how it affects learning and behavior. • Collaborate with staff to develop appropriate cognitive, academic, and/or social-emotional goals for students • Adhere to the ethical standards of the profession and to the established rules, regulations, and laws governing special education programs. • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff. • Perform all other duties as deemed necessary & assigned by the Director of Pupil Services and/or Principal/Pre-K Coordinator

Job Requirements
  • • School Psychologist licensure by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and
    related experience required. Knowledge of special education, child development, and 504 services are necessary.
    • Master's Degree or higher in Psychology or related field
    • Experience working in a public school setting and working with school-aged children
    • Demonstrated skills in assessment
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
  • Master degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
