Position: Virtual and Direct Support Professional
Location: 25 Linnell Circle
Reporting to: Assistant Director of Adult services
FTE: 1.0
Status: Non-Exempt

Valley Collaborative is a Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education approved public school entity. The Elementary program prides itself on providing an enriched school experience while supporting our students with the tailored therapeutic environment they require. All students have access to writing, reading, language arts, math, science and social studies instruction along with social and life skills programming. Students access this curriculum throughout the school day via multi-modal approach. The program is rich in trained professionals, supports, and technology specific to our population. By sharing its resources with multiple school districts and social service agencies, Valley programs are able to maintain superior quality at reasonable costs to all those it serves while meeting or exceeding state standards.

The Valley Collaborative Today and Tomorrow Program is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services. The Program assists individuals turning 22 to continue to receive support in order to work in the community and enhance opportunities to become fully engaged members of their community.

Essential Functions of the Job:
The person in this role will support Individuals with a wide range of intellectual disabilities to help them learn and perform specific tasks as determined in their Individual Support Plan (ISP). These supports may be delivered in person, remotely or a combination of the two. ISP's are reviewed and updated annually by state agency and Valley Collaborative staff.
Qualifications:
•Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
•Previous experience with Zoom, Google or similar remote platforms, highly desired.
•Ability to teach, mentor, coach, and advocate for individuals with disabilities.
•Flexibility to meet identified individual needs.
•A strong commitment to the goals, mission, and philosophy of the organization.
•High school diploma
•Valid driver's license

Responsibilities:
•Support individuals to learn and retain new skills that will help them be more independent in the community, with daily tasks and while seeking and retaining employment.
•Work with Valley staff to plan, implement and distribute weekly lesson/activity schedule.
•Utilize feedback from individuals and staff to help plan and create daily programming.
•Research and develop new Virtual Learning opportunities utilizing networks, technology and best practices.
•Ensure a variety of interests and individual needs are addressed through in person and virtual learning.
•Ensure all individual goals, objectives and support strategies are practiced.
•Daily documentation on individual activities and support strategies used to achieve goals.
•Work in collaboration with employees, peers and management to ensure best practices are consistent through all settings.
•Develop and maintain professional relationships with individuals and coworkers.
•Ensure consistent and professional feedback is maintained with all stakeholders.
•Transport individuals to and from program/activity site using Valley Collaborative's passenger vans.
•Assist individuals as needed with hygiene, meals and other personal care needs.
•All other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
•Constant standing or walking.
•Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
•Bends, reaches, lifts, carries, twists, pushes, pulls, and handles equipment when performing duties.
•Repetitive wrist/arm movements when on vocational site.
•Manual and finger dexterity and motor coordination are necessary.
•Able to reach and operate equipment and systems safely and effectively.
•Capable to clean snow off van and keep van clean.

•Demonstrate knowledge, skills and ability to use technical software for program needs.
•Adaptability to perform routine, repetitive tasks within a specific period of time.

•Must remain flexible and adaptable in order to meet department needs.
•Regular attendance required
