Early Head Start Co-Teachers $21-$26.25/ Hour, Generous benefits including: paid time off, medical/dental, paid training. $3,000 sign on bonus. Full time (2 hours / day of paid prep time). Rutland County Head Start is hiring co-teachers for their new Early Head Start (infant/toddler) program located in Rutland City. As an Early Head Start Toddler Teacher, you will serve as co-teacher in an outcomes-oriented, team environment, and provide safe, healthy, friendly, and developmentally appropriate environments and experiences for infants and toddlers. You will receive support, training, and exceptional professional development. As an Early Head Start co-teacher you will play an important role in improving childrens' future including school success, living standards, and life success. Minimum Qualifications: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, AA degree in a related field with 18 credits in Early Childhood Education, or a current Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate Credential (CDA). Additional Requirements: - Follow philosophy, policies and procedures of RCHS; and requirements of the Head Start Performance Standards, VT Child Care Center Licensing, follow Head Start Early Learning - Outcomes Framework and relationship-based practices. - Demonstrate professional responsibility and ethical behavior, including ability to foster respectful, collaborative relationships; problem solve; handle crises; function independently yet utilize supervision to conduct research-based practices; and maintain confidentiality and at all times. - Demonstrate positivity, flexibility, time management skills, punctuality and dependable attendance. - Accept, respect and value diverse family practices, languages, cultures and traditions. - Build positive and strengths-based partnerships with families. - Provide families with meaningful opportunities to engage in children's learning both in the classroom and at home that build upon families' strengths, skills, talents, interests and availability. - Utilize knowledge of child development to provide a developmentally appropriate, inclusive learning environment; and responsive, supportive and engaging interactions and experiences. - Implement research-based curriculum via meaningful, intentional learning experiences across several domains through differentiated instruction. - Utilize knowledge of children's interests, learning styles and stages of development to create meaningful play and maximize learning opportunities. - Implement research-based assessment practices that guide instruction and monitor children's growth and development. - Conduct home visits and family conferences as required. - Participate in ongoing professional development and in-service trainings during and after hours, including college-level courses as required. - Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont. - *Successful completion of a criminal history background check after hire.
