About RISE Prep Mayoral Academy RISE Prep Mayoral Academy is a small network of college preparatory public charter schools located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, where college preparation begins in kindergarten. Our flagship K-8 school opened its doors to our founding class of kindergarteners in August 2015, and that founding class will now become our founding class at our newly approved high school. Through a rigorous curriculum, highly structured learning environment, and character education, RISE Prep Mayoral Academy ensures that all Kindergarten through 12th grade students achieve the academic skills, content knowledge, and character required for success in college and a life of community engagement.

RISE Prep joins Rhode Island Mayoral Academies in establishing intentionally diverse schools that enroll from both urban and suburban communities. Responsibilities of a Dean of Culture

Scholar Culture and Behavior Leadership
Collaborate with principal and leadership team to create, communicate, and implement a code of conduct, culture systems, and behavior consequences that support positive school community, strong character development, high expectations for behavior, and an environment conducive to academic success Provide support to teachers and other building staff by responding to behavior referrals, including intervening to mediate disputes and de-escalate situations when necessary, providing social-emotional support, and facilitating restorative conversations Coach a team of building support staff to further develop their skills in the areas above Observe classrooms regularly and meet one-on-one with teachers as needed to give targeted feedback on classroom management and instructional practices that meet the needs of all scholars and promote a positive and productive learning environment Partner effectively with families to ensure scholars are effectively supported and remain productive and engaged in their learning, as well as issuing consequences when necessary and guiding scholars through reflection and restitution through a restorative practices framework Coordinate (in collaboration with the leadership team) school-wide community-building activities to maintain a sense of belonging and positive school culture, including, e.g., awards ceremonies, celebrations, social events, and pep rallies Lead (or co-lead) a scholar support team to regularly review behavior data and trends to identify appropriate supports for individual scholars and groups

Serve as a Member of the Core High School Leadership Team
Work closely with principal to set vision and goals, and promote productive and positive team culture Participate in weekly leadership team meetings Provide school-wide behavior management systems and culture systems Participate in managing flexible and non-traditional academic programming, including scholar coursework through partner programs (e.g., ACN), dual and concurrent enrollment, CTE coursework, and internships Collaborate with special populations leads to implement systems that effectively support success for students with IEPs, 504s, MLL supports, behavior intervention plans, and MTSS plans Communicate and meet with families to support student success with meeting the expectations of our program Support occasional extracurricular events outside of school-day hours as needed, including family "town hall" meetings, athletic events, and social events Model professionalism for colleagues
