About RISE Prep Mayoral Academy RISE Prep Mayoral Academy is a small network of college preparatory public charter schools located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, where college preparation begins in kindergarten. Our flagship K-8 school opened its doors to our founding class of kindergarteners in August 2015, and that founding class will now become our founding class at our newly approved high school. Through a rigorous curriculum, highly structured learning environment, and character education, RISE Prep Mayoral Academy ensures that all Kindergarten through 12th grade students achieve the academic skills, content knowledge, and character required for success in college and a life of community engagement.

Responsibilities of a Behavior and Culture Support
The primary role of a Behavior and Culture Support person is to support scholars in meeting school-wide expectations for productive engagement and adherence to the RISE Prep values. This team member is integral in assisting the instructional and leadership teams in maintaining a positive and productive school culture that maximizes instructional time and success for scholars.

Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with school leadership and relevant school-based teams to establish school-wide expectations and policies that uphold RISE Prep values and support scholar productivity, safety, belonging, and success Monitor school common areas (hallways, cafeteria, outdoor areas, and bathrooms as appropriate) to ensure scholars are meeting school culture and behavioral expectations Supporting classroom teachers by responding to behavior incidents or referrals and supporting teachers and scholars appropriately, leveraging strategies for emotional regulation, de-escalation, and restorative practices Supporting the implementation of individualized education plans or behavior plans as needed, including managing scheduled breaks or individualized accommodations Training for, and implementing, appropriate Safety-Care strategies for crisis intervention Participating in scholar support team and other relevant team meetings to collaborate and monitor progress toward behavioral goals Participating in all relevant professional development sessions connected to school culture and expectations Maintaining confidentiality of information concerning scholars and families Support other school-wide needs as assigned and identified by the HOS Work with scholars in a 1:1 and/or small group setting to support behavior and academic needs, as needed Create and maintain an environment of safety, care, respect, and rapport for and with scholars

Qualifications/Requirements Associates degree or higher and demonstrated interest in education preferred but not required. All applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED Certification with RI Paraprofessional Standards, or willingness to complete the requirements for the same, preferred A commitment to working with a diverse student and staff population Have a track record of producing dramatic, demonstrable student achievement gains or comparable results in their current field Work well within a team and approach all work with positivity and determination
