Department: Teaching and Learning Job Title: Literacy Curriculum Implementation Specialist FLSA Status:
(Exempt/Non-exempt) Exempt, Unit A
(January 2024- June 2024)

Summary:
The Literacy Curriculum Implementation Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation of the EL Curriculum by coordinating materials and professional development, and communicating with stakeholders. .3 (1.5 days) and .35 (1.75 days) (2 positions)
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Massachusetts teaching license
  • Master's Degree in Education.
  • Three or more years of recent experience teaching at the elementary level
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and flexible, responsive work style
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Detail oriented

Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity and experience with
    • EL Education literacy program.
    • Collaborating and problem-solving with teachers.
    • Anti-racist, anti-bias instruction.
    • Ordering

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
  • Ordering and provisioning materials and copies for classroom teachers
  • Supporting literacy specialists with inventorying and organizing materials
  • Scheduling and communication about professional development sessions
  • Soliciting feedback from classroom teachers, special educators, and ELL teachers
  • Preparing communications with stakeholders
  • Answering questions about materials and professional development
  • Problem solving challenges that arise
  • Reading ahead and strategizing about services and cross-department opportunities and challenges (Science, SS, ELL, SEL)
  • Meeting regularly with the Literacy Coordinator

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Work Environment:

Work is performed in a combination of office/school/storage environments. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function. Rarely absent or late unless the situation is of an emergency nature.

Physical Requirements:
The duties require a combination of sitting, standing, walking, traveling to school buildings, packing and lifting.
