Performance Responsibilities:

1. Maintains currency in the latest reading research through ongoing professional development and training
2. Establishes strong working relationships with students, families, colleagues and building leaders
3. Clearly understands and is able to implement a Universal Design for Learning as it relates to a Multi-tiered System of Support using district curriculum materials and differentiated instruction techniques
4. Assesses, organizes and interprets data related to student outcomes as measured by universal screening assessments
5. Regularly collaborates with students, colleagues and building leaders on student outcomes
6. Plans and implements outcome-aligned intervention lessons to support individual student learning
7. Models, observes, co-teaches, and teaches in Tier I classes to promote effective instructional practices vetted by research
8. Aligns practice to the DESE Standards for Educator Effectiveness
9. Organizes and facilitates Fall, Winter, Spring data meetings to discuss and interpret results from universal screening assessments and progress monitoring data and recommend aligned interventions with colleagues and building leaders
10. Provides evidence of student progress and contributes to IEP progress reports and literacy goal-setting
11. Leads professional development and training to support colleagues in best practices and locates supplemental resources as needed
12. Establishes consistent routines and procedures and sets high expectations for students
13. Any other duties as assigned by administration

Job Requirements
  • Required: Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Licensure as Reading Teacher or Moderate Disabilities (5-12) or the ability to obtain a license

  • Preferred: Previous experince as a Reading/Special Eduction Teacher
  • Wilson or Orton-Gillingham is a plus
