Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teacher's Certificate
- Cognitive Impairment (SA) Teaching Endorsement.
Description:
- Provide a continuum of adapted, integrated, and modified (AIM) specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students who function in the range of mild cognitive impairment (MiCi).
- Knowledge of Michigan K-12 and Extended Academic Standards (Essential Elements).
- Monitor and assesses student achievement and progress on IEP goals and objectives.
- Develop supplementary aides and supports to specific to the educational and functional needs of each student.
- Provide functional instruction, while maximizing opportunities for inclusion into general education settings.
- Lead paraprofessionals in the interest of optimal student performance and classroom management.
- Collaborate with educational staff in the development of positive behavioral support plans.
- Participate as a multidisciplinary evaluation team member to conduct full and individual student evaluations.
- Compile and maintain records, written reports, progress monitoring, and other student-related documentation.
- Consult and collaborate with parents, school personnel, and students regarding student performance.
- Partner with related service providers to improve the communication, social- emotional, and developmental outcomes of students.
- Schedule and coordinate IEP and related meetings with all stakeholders, including parents.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state compliance timelines, rules, and regulations.
- Serve as an active member of the school community, including participation in conferences and school events.
