CTE Programming and Web Development Teacher
DESCRIPTION:
The Programming and Web Development Instructor optimizes student investment of occupational
knowledge, skills, and achievement in preparation for success. The instructor is responsible for the success
and proper delivery of the assigned Chapter 74 Programming and Web Development and leveraging their
expertise to deliver education services in order for students to achieve credential certifications. This
preparation is necessary to become employed or continue education in a career related to the field of
Programming and Web Development.
PREREQUISITE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
? Four years of full-time employment experience directly related to programming and web development.
? Associate degree or higher degree related to the subject matter and skills to be taught.
? Licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a Vocational Programming Web Development Teacher
DUTIES:
1. Responsible for the development and implementation of departmental curriculum objectives and
competencies based on MA State Framework.
2. Teach technical skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to become skilled in their
field.
3. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media.
4. Responsible for the integration of curriculum where appropriate.
5. Utilize appropriate resources and educational technology to enhance student learning.
6. Continuously improves the instruction, curriculum, and equipment so that this CTE area is current with all
trends in the field and is fully and properly preparing students for available and emerging jobs.
7. Assist in the selection, maintenance of course materials, instructional equipment and educational
resources.
8. Develop lesson plans and organize class time so that demonstration, instruction, hands on practice, work
based learning experiences, review and final activities can be accomplished within the allotted time.
9. Participate in the development, evaluation and revision of the curriculum, scope & sequence and objective
in collaboration with the program director.
10. Maintain appropriate records related to students, attendance, grades, and other documents and insure
delivery to the appropriate administrator in a timely manner.
11. Promote student success by engaging students in the learning process.
12. Maintain class schedules and instructional integrity through adherence to lesson plans.
13. Maintain and improve professional competence especially as relates to the specific assignment and
student grade and subject area appropriateness.
14. Develop positive relationships with community partners in the area and actively solicit their help, including
service on the Program Advisory Board.
15. Attends staff and department meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
16. Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when
required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
17. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
18. Implements the district's mission, philosophy of education and instructional standards and objectives
19. Accommodate students' special needs and/or those who are undergoing unique circumstances and
reach out to as risk students.
20. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents,
Directors of Career and Technical Education, Principal and Assistant
Salary:
Salary for this position will be in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Everett
School Committee and the Everett Teachers Association.
