Job Description Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education and behavioral programs for each assigned student in consultation with other relevant staff and professionals.
- Develop Individualized Education Plans for students.
- Prepare quarterly report cards, mid-quarter reports, and IEP progress report narratives.
- Maintain communication with students' parents/guardians, relevant staff, and outside professionals.
- Manage classroom budget and report expenditures to supervisor.
- Evaluate students' current levels of academic and behavioral functioning and make necessary program adjustments.
- Select appropriate instructional materials and strategies based on the curriculum to implement IEP goals and objectives.
- Organize classroom furniture and equipment to foster a positive learning environment.
- Supervise students throughout the day to ensure safety, including bus and playground duty.
- Implement individual and group behavior management programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum qualifications for a Provisional Certificate in special education at the appropriate level, or content area.
- Experience in special education or a related field is preferred.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: The grades are 6-8 and the teacher would be teaching all of the core subjects. There will be no more than 9 students in the classroom, but right now, there are only 7-8.
Timings: 8 AM to 4 PM
