NECC is a global leader in autism education and research. Working Hours Monday 10-3 Tuesday 10-3 Wednesday 12-4 Thursday 10-3 Friday 10-3 The Adult Services Nurse position is an experienced nurse with knowledge of DDS and MAP policies. The nurse must be able to work independently and be skilled in NECC, DDS and MAP policy implementation. Advanced health assessment skills are required. The Adult Services Nurse will work under the supervision of the Director of Health Services and cross train for Occupational Health and Residential Primary Care nursing duties to assist with vacation coverage when necessary. Responsibilities -Develop, implement, revise and maintain Adult Services, DDS and MAP policies and procedures according to State regulations and certifying agencies. The Adult Services Nurse must be familiar with State Regulations (DDS, MAP) and be up-to-date on current changes. -Provides primary healthcare management for Adult Services. -Oversees Adult client health care records and maintains current up-to-date health information according to State and NECC guidelines. -Communicates with parents to notify them of pertinent health issues and updates. -Familiarity with Massachusetts guidelines for Infectious Disease control, including infectious disease management. -Provides Medication delivery system oversight according to Massachusetts DPH/DDS/MAP guidelines. -Participates in health assessment of adults with healthcare issues and acts as a liaison between staff and outside healthcare providers. -Instructs/educates counselors and parents about treatment or medication as necessary. -Collaborate with NP, PCP, and specialists when necessary. Able to work independently. -Participates in Health Education for Adult Services staff. -Monitors staff for the administration of medication according to MAP Policy for adults. -Oversees and participates in the organization of routine and specialty medical appointments with team and parents. -Coordinates and participates in regular and routine meetings with the Adult Services Program Director and Program Specialist. -Active in retraining Counselors for Medication Administration, tracking Med errors and maintaining Med. Error / Training Grid. Qualifications -Licensing Requirements: Registered Nurse (RN), duly licensed to practice in Massachusetts. -Certifications: Basic CPR certification of Adults, Children and Infants (ARC or AHA) Instructor CPR Certification from American Red -Cross for Community CPR, AED and First Aid (may obtain after hire date) -Other Requirements: Minimum of an Associate's Degree in nursing NECC Requirements: Successful completion of NECC orientation course, including CALM, driver's training, and health services courses. -Computer skills are required, such as basic proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and Email. -RN should be able to utilize basic skills using a cell phone.
