Job Description TITLE: Youth Case Manager REPORTS TO: Director of Adult Education Summary of the Position: The Youth Case Manager works as a member of the Adult Education Program staff to support the students enrolled in the Adult Education HiSET Program. Serving as an advocate for each youth, the Case Manager works through classroom instruction and in individual meetings to assist students experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health challenges. The Case Manager also delivers content from the newly designed social-emotional learning curriculum, empowering students to create a great life - academic, professional, and social - while honing their study skills. Focusing on 8 strategies to becoming a successful student (accepting personal responsibility, discovering self-motivation, mastering self-management, employing interdependence, gaining self-awareness, adopting lifelong learning, developing emotional intelligence, and believing in themselves), youth will learn how to transition from being successful students to being successful career professionals. The Case Manager can expect a caseload of approximately 15 youth per cohort and will be available to serve additional students who have already exited the program. Please note that early career professionals are encouraged to apply. Preferred Qualifications: •Previous experience in education, counseling, human services, or a related field. •Ability to gain trust and respect from youth to develop lasting relationships with them. •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with students, staff, and external partners. •A "can-do" and proactive attitude, recognizing when work needs to be done without having to be told. Job Responsibilities: •Assess incoming cohorts to develop plans and deliver programs related to different areas depending on their unique needs/areas for growth. •Assist youth in establishing boundaries and correcting inappropriate behavior. •Serve as the instructor for the SEL component to the HiSET program, delivering a weekly class based on success strategies. •Maintain a network of support services for all students, making referrals as needed for additional and long-term assistance. •Assist the Adult Education Outreach Coordinator in maintaining regular communication (monthly) with all current and former students (for a period of up to 1 year past exit). •Remain abreast of current best practices in the realm of Adult Education, including but not limited to mental health advocacy, trauma-informed care, and appreciative advising. •Other duties as required and in agreement with the Director. Schedule & Hours: Monday - Thursday (mornings), 15-20 hrs/week About Wellspring's Adult Education Program (HiSET): The HiSET program at Wellspring works in partnership with MASSHIRE and is generously funded through the WIOA grant. Wellspring has been fortunate to receive this funding for several years and the program has been in operation for over 35 years. We attract students to our program who have demands on their schedule (need a compressed schedule), have experienced high levels of anxiety in the post-COVID classroom, and whose academic aspirations align more closely with our program offerings. The majority of our students enter college or certificate/trade programs directly after graduation. As a part of our funding guidelines, we track students for 1 full year post-exit, so it is imperative that strong relationship development is inherent in our work. As a member of Wellspring's community, students have access to other critical services that our organization provides like transportation, clothing, and food. Our primary goal is to help these young people feel like they belong to a supportive community that is dedicated to helping them achieve their goals. Interested applicants should email a resume and cover letter to Jessie Pilewski, the Director of Adult Education (

Welcome to ATX Learning Wellspring Multi-Service Centers' mission is to provide support and skills to people facing challenges to their well-being in order to help them achieve independence and self-sufficiency. A private, 501(c)3, multi-service organization with two locations on Boston's South Shore, Wellspring serves individuals and families throughout the region. Our programs, available in our Hull and Weymouth locations, reach beyond providing emergency services and help people become more independent, productive members of their communities. Our comprehensive, wrap-around approach is specifically designed to address all of the factors contributing to or hindering individuals' paths to independence. Our many programs and services reach people in many different ways and often intersect. For example, a person may come to Wellspring with a food scarcity concern but is subsequently provided additional resources such as crisis counseling, legal advocacy, or help navigating assistance programs (to name just a few of our wide-ranging programs and services).
