Job Description New England Pediatric Care is hiring for our Director of Education Services position! We are seeking an energetic, passionate and dedicated candidate to join a warm and welcoming team of teachers, caregivers and clinicians. At New England Pediatric Care, we care for children, families and each other. New England Pediatric Care (NEPC) is a one-of-a-kind resource that provides specialized around the clock care to infants, children and young adults with complex medical needs. We are an 80-bed nursing facility with an onsite special education private school providing education services to our residents as well as community day students. We are looking for an organized and enthusiastic educator with the ability to lead a large team of professionals and infuse joy into the lives of our students and staff. This position is a center leadership position with a reporting relationship directly to the President-Executive Director. The right candidate will be comfortable working independently but also collaborating as part of the larger facility leadership team. Responsibilities: • Oversee K-12 classrooms • Provide school-wide leadership and support in the following areas: implementation of learning standards, development and implementation of assessments, program development, professional development, and grant development and management • Assists in the implementation of all special education programs, including but not limited to the coordination of the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, testing, running meetings, and the creation and implementation of 504s and 688s • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with out of district school system coordinators including annual contracts, IEPS, student placements • Develop and implement integrative/inclusive programs within the facility leadership team to evaluate and monitor their effectiveness in terms of quality service to students • Model, co-teach, and observe in classes • Provide feedback and suggestions to support teachers in their efforts to support a range of learners • Assume a lead role in the professional development activities of special education teachers to improve instruction for all special education students • Oversees the development and coordination of curriculum goals and objectives and distribution of instructional materials for the school's special education programs • Maintains responsive lines of communication among students, parents, and staff involved with special education programs • Lead recruitment, hiring and retention efforts to support the department and ensure adequate staffing in all classrooms • Other duties as assigned If you wish to apply, please send your resume to:
[email protected]Job Requirements Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements: • Must be currently licensed in MA with a Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities license, must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment. • 5 years of teaching experience with special education • Massachusetts Supervisor/Director license or Administrator of Special Education Provisional with Advanced Standing or Standard • Previous leadership experience preferred • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and demonstrate high level of organization
