Job Description SECOND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE PRINCIPAL This is a temporary position Cresecentwood Elementary & BellviewJob Description: duties and responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure
efficient operation of the office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Standard office functions: answer telephones, take messages, customer service to parents andothers who come into the school, use of copy machines and computer workstations, distributingmail, filing/recordkeeping, and the like.
- Lunch count, bus issues, building issues
- Daily and weekly attendance and truancy reporting
- State testing coordination
- Kindergarten round-up at K-2 building
- Student and staff injury or accident reports
- Log in and out CA 60's, CA-60 management
- New registrations, immunization records (MCIR), and medical notes
- Fundraisers, student photos/yearbook
- Prepare awards and certificates, assembly agenda, parent invitations
- Textbook/workbook inventory
- Hearing, Vision and Dental Screenings/Visits
- Backup administrative assistant partner when needed
- Performs other related duties, including special projects as requested by the supervisor
- Enter attendance calls into system
- Enter suspension/attendance into system
- Weekly attendance reports/truancy reporting
- Immunization reports (MCIR)
- Assist with student registration process
- Backup to other building secretary
- Set up "robocalls" for attendance
- Serves as the main contact for student check-ins and check-outs with parent phone calls
- Performs other related duties, including special projects, as requested by the supervisoR
- Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Relevant prior work experience
- Moderate proficiency-MS Word
- Moderate proficiency-MS Excel
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of PowerSchool
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Sound judgment/common sense
- Able to work with interruptions
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Some bookkeeping/math skills
- Accurate telephone skills
- Skills testing may be required
- Physical Demands:
- Ability to move about the office and building
- Ability to work at a desk for long periods of time
- Ability to use a keyboard, telephone, and basic office machines
- Ability to pull, push, reach, and/or bend in the use of office equipment
- Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds

- Indoor office, with occasion to be out in school building or district
- Noise from student passing times or office equipment
- Dealings with students, parents and staff
