About Rocky Mountain Prep

Rocky Mountain Prep is a growing network of innovative public charter schools, serving students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade in the Greater Denver Area. Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) opened its first school in 2012 with 130 students and has grown to four schools, working with over 1,800 scholars across two districts. Grounded in our culture of rigor and love, our schools consistently outperform local districts academically, while also ensuring our scholars are developing in our PEAK values of perseverance, excellence, adventure, and kindness. In the school year 2023-2024, we will grow to 12 schools serving over 5,000 students in grades PK-12th.

Role Mission

High School Early Literacy Interventionists should be prepared to work with students in grades 9th-12th who require additional support to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs and achieve grade-level proficiency. They will primarily focus on literacy intervention for scholars reading below a 6th grade reading level.

In this role, you will...
  • Teach daily literacy interventions in individual and small group settings, providing instruction based on scholar needs
  • Progress monitor student data, document progress, and enter data into a centralized data management system
  • Analyze scholar data and use it to set individual goals, create intervention groups and instructional plans, and adjust instruction Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teachers, service providers, school leaders, students, and families to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of each learner
  • Lead Student Care Plan meetings for students requiring additional support
  • There may be a requirement to work with students before or after regular school hours in this role. Total work hours will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

Education Requirements:
  • 3 years of full-time K-12 lead teaching experience that involves literacy instruction (ex. homeroom teacher, literacy teacher, interventionist, or special education teacher)
  • During the application process, you will need to provide student data demonstrating that you have led students to 1.5 years of reading growth in a single school year and/or high levels of mastery on state tests or standards-based assessments
  • Be able to provide an official transcript demonstrating graduation from an undergraduate institution
  • CO teaching license OR Out-of-State teaching license with the ability to transfer licensure to CO
  • Pass a background check & demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States


Preferred:
  • Experience implementing a literacy intervention program with fidelity (e.g. Wilson Reading system)
  • Specialized training in research-based literacy intervention (e.g. Orton-Gillingham)
  • Experience with tiered instruction as a dedicated literacy interventionist in an elementary school
  • Reading specialist endorsement, Special Education endorsement, and/or CLDE endorsement on an active CO teaching license
  • Completion of CDE READ Act training and/or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) 45 contact hours
  • Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse students and families
  • Bilingual English & Spanish or English & Arabic

Salary

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $60,000 - $89,000. Years count as full years spent lead teaching in American public K-12 schools and public Pre-K programs.
