Job Description

The Field Program Manager, Galileo X is a key member of our National Program Operations team at Galileo Learning. You will support the programs that directly serve children in their home schools or districts as a part of the “Galileo X” program. You will be the primary manager of the Camp Directors of each site location, ensuring a supportive, joyful, and professionally fulfilling experience for these education leaders. You will be responsible for supporting them through the day-to-day operations at each of your camp locations. An ideal candidate will be passionate about and experienced with bringing programming to under-resourced communities and inspired by Galileo’s potential impact.

WORK LOCATION

Hybrid within the Southern California area, serving camps in the Orange County/ LA South region. The role is a hybrid of work-from-home (remote) and onsite at Galileo Camp locations. Candidates must be located within the geographic area and be able to commute to locations in and around the region. 

The role is primarily remote from September to May, with occasional commitments on-site, and is hybrid with the expectation to be onsite at camp locations 3-4 days per week during the summer camp season.

YOU WILL

  • Be the regional manager for multiple program/camp sites - Manage a team of Camp Directors, creating professional development opportunities, giving timely feedback, and ensuring safe, welcoming staff teams that value belonging, joy, and camp innovation & fun.

  • Train Camp Directors on all logistics and operations at each managed site.

  • In partnership with the L&D team, develop content for training Camp Directors, including facilitating retreat logistics and content, developing coaching materials, and deploying coaching capacity across sites.

  • Create a community within your area and beyond through networking, insight sharing, and participating in regional events and activities to ensure that the critical elements of Galileo camp culture are modeled to their staff and campers.

  • Serve as an escalation point for your team on issues or challenges that they do not feel prepared to resolve on their own; assist in resolution that balances customer care and program needs.

  • Partner with our People Operations Team to hire, onboard, train, and support our Camp Director team throughout the hiring process and the pre-camp season.

  • To support Galileo X, you will:

    • Serve as the cross-departmental liaison with marketing, customer service, training, the people operations department, and the supply team to identify customizations to existing operations

    • In partnership with the Program Director, refine KPIs for each camp and capture performance data, assist as needed with facility logistics and partnerships

    • Serve as an ambassador for Galileo X by providing support and being a liaison with on site staff and regional program partners.

COMPENSATION

We anticipate the compensation for this Full-Time, exempt position to be $75,000 - $85,000 annually. Exact compensation will vary and will be based on multiple factors, including geography and professional experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (5+ years of increasing responsibility in similar field)

  • 2+ years experience working with K-8 education in a leadership role

  • Experience working at camps and/or out-of-school time or informal learning programs 

  • 3+ Experience in multi-site staff management and managing programs or services (preferred) 

  • Experience with B2B sales or account management a plus!

  • Experience with Salesforce, Google Analytics, and project management softwares

  • Ability to travel to 3 annual events (1 weekend) and up to 3 weekends during the summer

  • Ability to commute to camps within 1 hour drive time of your home location regularly

Additional Information

During the onboarding process, you may need to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) screening, a background check, and mandated reporter training (California only). More details will be provided during your onboarding process.
