About OneGoal

OneGoal transforms postsecondary advising and support so that every student can define their own future. Together with our partners, we're building a movement to close the opportunity gap. We work side-by-side with partner schools and districts to build their knowledge and capacity. The result is more equitable and effective support for all students. Our unique approach, honed over 15 years, prioritizes strong human relationships. And it's proven to deliver real student impact . 81% of OneGoal high school graduates enroll in a postsecondary institution, and 73% of those students persist one year after high school graduation. An independent study by the University of Chicago found that OneGoal students are about 40% more likely to earn their postsecondary degrees than students from similar backgrounds. We are looking for individuals to join us in our pursuit of equity.

The Person

The mission of the Manager of Fellow Success is to support Year 3 Fellows (students in their first year after high school graduation) , leveraging differentiated strategies aligned to Fellows' pathways, aspirations, and needs. To do this, the MFS uses regional data to help inform practices, reflects on learnings, sets purposeful quarterly and monthly goals, and reinforces mindsets and skills related to Quality Enrollment and 1:1 Advising best practices. The MFS's success directly aligns to supporting Fellows through their first year of postsecondary and ensuring they are able to enroll or persist in the fall one year after high school graduation.

You will do this by:
    • Fellow Support (60%): You will deliver advising and differentiated support to OneGoal's Year 3 Fellows, including directly advising 80-100 Fellows, developing and executing a communication strategy, and leading support of Fellows during critical transition periods, including between academic years.
  • Postsecondary Success Engagement (20%): You will lead Fellow-facing work related to planning, executing, and learning from programming and experiences that enrich the Y3 Fellow experience to support persistence to the fall of the following school year and, ultimately, completion of their chosen pathway.
  • High-Quality Collaboration (20%): You will represent the Postsecondary Success team and Y3 Fellows in collaboration with other Massachusetts regional teams, as well as colleagues in other OneGoal regions and across the organization, to elevate insights, advance learning and visibility, and execute on collaborative projects.

The Manager of Fellow Success is likely to see themselves in the following examples as they are designed to help you determine if this opportunity aligns with your own passion, purpose, skills, and experiences.

You believe deeply in our Fellows and their ability to earn a postsecondary degree or certification.
  • You understand how to motivate and influence youth through the unique challenges and opportunities that first-generation college students may face.

You are a coach at heart and believe in the power of coaching and support.
  • You believe your impact can be greater when you empower others. You believe that all individuals have the ability to be great, and that people can achieve more with additional resources and support. You build relationships quickly, consistently, and authentically.

You find joy in ensuring others feel supported and heard.
  • Your communication is efficient and responsive; ensuring stakeholders have just the right amount of detail to act and follow through.

You are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • You seek to understand and celebrate the unique identities of the individuals with whom you interact; you advocate for and elevate the voices of marginalized people and communities especially those from which our Fellows come; you interrogate your own understandings, bias, and privilege and reflect on how they play out in your work.

You are organized and have a keen attention to detail.
  • Things don't fall through the cracks with you because you understand what's at stake. You're proactive in establishing personal systems and processes to ensure your ability to keep track of high volumes of information, to easily access it and to use that information to make data-informed decisions.

Qualifications:
  • Lived experience of the Fellows we serve (Preferred)
    • Associates or Bachelors degree (Required)
  • Experience with college advising and/or persistence support (Required)
  • Ability to provide own transportation to team events, school sites, and Fellow meet-ups. This role requires about 20% travel within the Massachusetts region.
