Job Description
Assist in the attainment of district goals by maintaining accurate student attendance data and pupil accounting reports; work with other school personnel to improve student attendance.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain current attendance records as required by the district and state, including admissions, qualifications, and registrations.
2. Enter absences into the computer.
3. Handle correspondence to parents of students who have excessive absences
4. File all excuses for absences, withdrawing students.
5. Keep appropriate personnel apprised of changes in attendance records.
6. Prepare official attendance reports in accordance with district and state policies and procedures.
7. Assist the campus secretary in performing all office procedures.
8. Receive incoming calls, answer questions, take messages and route to appropriate staff.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expectedfor this position.
Minimum Requirements
• High School diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency.
• 2+ years of related experience and general knowledge of routine office procedures to include customer service, telephone etiquette, efficient and effective filing and record keeping procedures.
• Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with diverse groups of individuals utilizing tact and diplomacy.
• Demonstrated proficiency in general office management and procedures.

Working ConditionsWork Environment:
• Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.
• Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional exposure to: biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
• Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling, and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
