Job Description
Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health has an exciting opportunity at our campus in Fitchburg, Massachusetts-currently offering $3,000 sign on bonus!
Starting at $52,648.38 Base Pay. Additional compensation for higher education, licensure and relevant experience up to $74,343.25
If you have your bachelor's degree and love working with youth, you could be a part of an exceptional team of teachers, aides, clinicians, speech and language pathologists, and occupational therapists. You'll be working to meet the needs of students in grades K-12 and beyond, as they work toward diplomas and learn vocational, transitional, and social-emotional skills. Our students have typically experienced multiple academic failures, most often resulting from a wide variety of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
Our beautiful location brings together students who live on campus with students who are living at home in the local communities. Though most of our students come from MA, we have students and staff who came from many other states and several countries. We are shaped by growing Servant Leadership and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives.
While Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Services, Clinical Support and Vocational Training form important parts of our program, the Special Education Teacher is the foundation that weaves these services together into a unified whole, presenting and differentiating the Massachusetts State Frameworks in Math, English, Science, and Social Studies as you build on student strengths and successes in our self-contained classrooms.
What Will Devereux Offer You?
We utilize and train our staff with principles from PBIS, ABA and Trauma-informed care.
We equip our classes with chrome books, smart boards, and access to premium, top tier educational websites.
Every student also participates in specials including Animal Care with foster dogs, Culinary, Physical Education, Woodworking, and Art.
Tuition assistance and Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program, as well as a supportive leadership team that works to guide professionals through the licensing process.
Our small class sizes and low student: teacher ratios allow for individualized planning, influential relationships, and lots of direct instruction and modeling of concepts and behaviors.
The Devereux School is licensed by the Department of Education and Secondary Education, Accredited by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and is a member of The Massachusetts Association of 776-Approved Schools. Our curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and coordinated through a collaborative working relationship with referring school districts. Flexibility in academic programming and creativity to meet students' needs are two of the strengths of our organization.
